The Sight of Your Glow

from The Paper Hearts by The Paper Hearts

/

about

There's a place on the wall where the paint seems to fall more often than I blink my eyes. And the memories of you still hanging in view of my heart I can't seem to make die. There's a place on the small of your back that I know I'll never get back. Come back to me openly. There was a time when your kiss went deeper than this and your eyes were windows to show me. Your breath used to slow while holding you close, but now it's as though you don't know me. There's a rope linking both of our souls and I'm watching you slowly let go. Your hair used to tickle my lips while sleeping together hip to hip. My heart used to tremble at the sight of your glow, but I suppose that you'll never know.
